Just Don't Give Up!

IMG_7682.JPG

Life can be so overwhelming. I mean sometimes you just have to take a break from the madness and cry.  Do that. I think about how screaming at the top of my lungs at the beach would release the ball of stress I've been holding. If you can...Do that!  Can't get to the beach.....Scream in your pillow.  It's ok.  Cleanse your soul. At the end of it all, don't give up. Keep fighting. Keep pushing.

She Stories

We're still glowing baby!  She Stories first event "Being an Entrepreneur"  was super awesome. We had three amazing women aka boss babes share their journey of being an entrepreneur: Julie Richard of Owner Brenton Lee Salon & Blogger - Love Always Julie, Cheryl Sutherland of PleaseNotes and Jesyka White of JW Photo N Design.

These babes gave us great advice on crushin' it.  See being a boss has a variety of meanings. You can be a business owner, be in management at a company or be the boss of your life. Whatever you want to do, you can do it. It takes a plan, hard work, and a tribe. Having a tribe is so important. Your vibe attracts your tribe. Surround yourself with positive people who support you.

Girl...What a night!  Women who support and empower each other through storytelling. Your story matters. Someone needs to hear it. Your past experiences, can encourage someone to stay on their journey.  Keep shining

Be Beautiful. Be Brave. Be a Boss.

XoXo,

Find Your Tribe

Man. Life really sucks when you try to handle it on your own. I mean seriously, why go through chaos without having your girl by your side.

In my early 20's, I experienced an abusive relationship. I acted like nothing was wrong. I lived my daily life, hung out with people, even attended church. People didn't have a clue of what was happening in my world. I felt so alone and isolated. I'm so big on family, looking back at it now, how could I isolate myself from the very people that loved me. Embarrassed. Ashamed. It stopped me from reaching out to the ones I loved. But I did. And I totally see that I really needed my tribe. Seriously.

But Thank God (Imma testify), I got out of the relationship. Healed my soul..Forgave..Revised my life. After experiencing one of the toughest times in my life, I see how much I needed my support.

Life is definitely going to be filled with ups and downs. Some of us hold on tight to our tribe and others disappear in the dark.  Girl!  Come on now.  Where you at tho?

Having a tribe is priceless. They hold you up. They keep it 100. They love you. They help you.  They are there.

I've built some incredible relationships with some of the most amazing women ever. I love my tribe. I thrive with my tribe. Never letting go.

So girl...Find Your Tribe!

Yo...Treat Yo Self

I don't know about you but I put in work. I mean I hustle hard. I'm a freakin' boss. With all that hustle and grind, sometimes I forget to treat myself.

I'm a true believer in good work ethics but I'm also a true believer in self care.  Not matter if you're a business owner, student, have a career or a mom, you deserve a break.   You deserve a little treat every now and then. Hey you work hard girl, you deserve it. Don't neglect yourself. If you're concerned about a budget, set a online savings account like Qapital or Digit.  Make a special "Treat Yo Self" fund.  Be dedicated to you!  Get a massage, get a mani/pedi, a facial, a milky bun from Afters...whatever your pleasure. Reward yourself for being super awesome.

Save up. Stack yo chips and at the end of the month...you already know what to do Treat Yo Self.  Trust me, life will be a little sweeter because you will enjoy the reward of working hard.

Get Your Fight Back

I know life is short. I am convinced that most of us forget it. Why on God's green earth do you continue to allow people to walk all over you? Know your worth.

Get your fight back. Turn on the GPS and find your confidence. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You dope. You got the juice. Remember who you are and who's you are (as the old folks use to say). God sho didn't put you here to be a mat. You have purpose.

Speak life and Say Goodbye to the Nonsense!

Revise Your Life

Have you ever sat and thought to yourself....I need to make some changes because I'm over this!  Let's face it, only when things become super uncomfortable do you we think about making changes.  Reality is that we needed to make the change, we just thought it wasn't quite necessary at the moment.

It's so important to take the time to regularly evaluate your life and when it doesn't match up with your goals and destiny then make changes when needed.

Re-evaluate. Restore.  Revise.

ME Day

IMG_4808.JPG

Have you ever woke up exhausted? Even when you've had a great night of sleep.  Yeah. That's me. Freakin' Tired.

Why am I so beat?  Ugh.  Well...let's see, I have my own business, work my side hustle...then repeat.  I'm on my grind like errrday but I don't schedule time for me. (that's a problem).  Some may say everyday is a me day for you girl. A boss. Self employed. You don't clock in. You don't work for "the man"!  Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes as a boss, we hustle and sometimes I forget about self care. No Bueno!

True Confession: We need a break and we know it but why don't we take it. I know it's hard to find the time to do it but if you don't willing take the break, your body will take break on it's on. And then it will be all bad.

So it's time to take a break. Even if it's for a day. Even if it's a staycation or what I like to call a mental health day. You need a day to relax and recharge.  You deserve It!  Hey I deserve it.  So slow down long enough to pick up your phone, text or email whoever you need to run your business, schedule a ME Day, put it on the calendar and stick to it. Don't reschedule your ME time.

While your waiting for that day to come, take a little time in the morning or in the evening, even if it's 15 minutes to clear your mind, take a deep breath and meditate.  Take a bath. Fill the room with candles and some soothing music and getaway just for a moment until your ME Day arrives.

So yaaaaaaas girl. Take a minute to #schedulethat

Fits Just Right

IMG_4816.JPG

As a little girl I would love to play dress up. I would wear my sister clothes, jewelry and of course her high heel shoes. I felt like a princess. You should have seen me. I was the most Beautiful girl in the world.  You couldn't tell me nothin'.

I looked in the mirror with ultimate satisfaction. I acted like this character of woman that I'd never met. But hey I was a princess!

As I walked across the room in the heels that were 4x too big I stumbled and fell still rockin'  my imaginary crown. I wore shoes that weren't mine. I knew it but I looked too good.  After awhile the heels started to hurt so I took them off and put on my own shoes. Oh my gosh my feet felt so much better and I could walk with ease.  Still feeling beautiful as ever.

As I think back to those days it reminds me of how sometimes as women we try to walk in someone else's shoes.  We try to live in someone's shadow. We try to be something we're not just to fit in.  Even changing the pure essence of who we are.

You are absolutely beautiful and amazing. Don't be a fake. Be you.  Don't walk in her shoes walk in your own. Embrace Your Journey. Be the beautiful you that you were created to be.
